accepted for poster presentation, with the exception of Resident and Fellow
Research in Progress and Student Submissions, will automatically be entered
in the Best Poster Award competition. Abstracts will be evaluated on originality, hypothesis/objectives, study design, results, and conclusions. Papers will be assigned to platform format based on the desire of the presenter and the recommendation of the reviewers.
The Abstract deadline was November 1, 2008, and authors will be notified November 30 of their status.
CLINICAL PHARMACY FORUM: Abstracts must describe the delivery, development, justification, or documentation of innovative clinical pharmacy services. Abstracts dealing with payments or cost analyses are encouraged. Abstracts may be descriptive only and need not contain an evaluative component. The abstract must neither have been published in abstract form nor presented elsewhere prior to the 2009 ACCP/ESCP International Congress on Clinical Pharmacy (April 24–28). Abstracts will be evaluated on originality of the service or program, adequacy of justification/documentation, adaptability to other settings, and significance to clinical pharmacy. All papers will be assigned to poster format.
The Abstract deadline was November 1, 2008, and authors will be notified November 30 of their status.
RESIDENTS AND FELLOWS RESEARCH IN PROGRESS:
Submission and evaluation criteria are those of an Original Research presentation except that the research effort is still ongoing. Descriptions of planned research efforts without data should not be submitted. Submission of partially completed data is acceptable. Abstracts should provide an assessment of likelihood of project completion by date of presentation. The presenting author must be a resident or fellow. The abstract title and authors will be published in Pharmacotherapy. The full abstract will be published in the meeting program book only. All papers will be assigned to poster format.
Deadline for Residents and Fellows Research in Progress is December 15, 2008, Midnight, Pacific.

ENCORE PRESENTATION: Submission and evaluation criteria are those of an "Original Research" or "Clinical Pharmacy Forum" presentation except that abstracts may have been presented elsewhere (other than another ACCP meeting) or published in abstract form only prior to this meeting. For Encore Presentations, only the abstract title, authors, and original citation will be published in Pharmacotherapy. The full abstract will be published in the meeting program book only. All papers will be designated "Encore Presentations" and will be assigned to poster format.
RESIDENT AND FELLOW BEST POSTER COMPETITION: Research must be complete and submitted as Original Research or Clinical Pharmacy Forum within one year of completion of training, and must have been conducted by the primary author/presenter while still a resident or fellow. Abstracts submitted in the Resident and Fellow Research in Progress category are not eligible for this competition. Those who are current students will have a separate abstract submission process and award competition.
PEDIATRIC RESEARCH AND PRACTICE ABSTRACTS: In conjunction with the Pediatric Pharmacy Advocacy Group, ACCP is accepting abstracts in Pediatric Pharmacy Practice and Pharmacology.
Pediatric Pharmacy Scientific/Research abstracts presented at ACCP-PPAG report the results of a scientific investigation or a clinical observation involving some aspect of pharmacotherapy. Scientific investigations can be either clinical, basic, or translational and are either hypothesis-driven or descriptive in nature. Pediatric Pharmacy Practice Abstracts typically describe programs, systems, or projects that are innovative, creative, cost-effective, and improve practice in pediatric pharmacy. We will accept Scientific, Case Reports, Research-in-Progress, and Encore presentations.
Deadline for Pediatric Research and Practice Abstracts is December 15, 2008, Midnight, Pacific.
